This policy describes how Hunt Events(“we”, “us”, “our”) handles personal data collected through this website and related services. We’re committed to protecting your data and being transparent about how we use it.
We act as the data controller for the personal data described below. If you have questions about this policy or how your data is handled, email us at info@huntevents.co.uk.
What we collect
We collect only the data needed to respond to enquiries and run the website. Specifically:
Contact form submissions
- Name — so we know who’s writing to us
- Email address — so we can reply
- Enquiry type (optional) — helps us route your message
- Message content — what you’re asking about
Technical data
- IP address — used for rate-limiting to prevent spam
- User agent (browser / device type) — helps diagnose issues
Cookies and analytics
This site only sets essential cookies required for the admin panel session (used by our team, not general visitors). No advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking.
We use Vercel Web Analyticsto count page views and measure which pages are popular. It’s cookieless, doesn’t use personal identifiers, and doesn’t track you across other websites. That’s why you don’t see a cookie consent banner — under UK PECR, essential cookies and privacy-preserving analytics don’t require one.
Why we collect it
Our lawful basis under UK GDPR for processing this data is legitimate interest: responding to enquiries is a core business need, and spam-protection measures (rate limiting via IP) are necessary to keep the contact form usable.
We don’t use your data for marketing, we don’t sell it, and we don’t share it with third parties for their own purposes.
Who processes your data
We use a small set of well-known infrastructure providers to run the site and handle enquiries. These act as data processors on our behalf:
- Supabase— stores contact form submissions in an encrypted Postgres database
- Resend— delivers enquiry notifications by email to our team
- Vercel— hosts the website and provides privacy-preserving page-view analytics; request metadata (IP, user agent) transits their edge network
Each of these providers has their own data-protection commitments and processes data in line with UK GDPR. Some data may be transferred outside the UK/EEA; where that happens, it’s covered by the providers’ standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.
How long we keep your data
Contact form submissions are retained for up to 24 months from the date of your last contact with us, then deleted. You can ask for earlier deletion at any time (see below).
Technical log data (IP / user agent stored alongside submissions) is deleted on the same schedule.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Rectification — correct any inaccurate data
- Erasure — ask us to delete your data
- Restriction — limit how we process your data
- Objection — object to our processing on legitimate interest grounds
- Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
To exercise any of these rights, email info@huntevents.co.uk. We’ll respond within one month as required by UK GDPR.
If you believe we’ve mishandled your data, you can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
Changes to this policy
If we materially change how we handle personal data, we’ll update this page and revise the “last updated” date at the top. For significant changes that affect how your data is processed, we’ll make a reasonable effort to contact you directly.
